Matts Leiderstam participates in the Guangzhou Triennale 6.9-16.11.2008
Matts Leiderstam is one of the 181 artists from over 40 countries participating in the third Guangzhou Triennale. The Triennial is organized by the Guangdong Museum of Art and runs from September 6th to November 16th. The theme of the 2008 edition of the trienniale is “Farewell to Post-Colonialism” and the exhibition is structured around four sections. Leiderstams works are shown as part of the Thinking Room section, which brings together artists and artworks that decode secrets of the creative process. The works display the battery of thinking tools used by artists, and provide witness accounts of the site of creation. They illustrate methods of thinking and explore contemporary art as a mode of knowledge production, while prompting reflections on the significance of the knowledge generated by art.
